Skipton Building Society

Skipton Building Society is the UK’s fourth largest building society. Founded in 1853, Skipton enjoys a national presence represented by its 104 branches, covering Aberdeen to Plymouth, with over 850,000 members.

An innovator in the field of mortgage and investment products, the Society stands apart from its counterparts as the parent to 21 subsidiary companies, many of which operate in the financial market. With 92 branches nationwide, stretching from Aberdeen to Plymouth, as well as its subsidiary companies, Skipton Group now employs approximately 8,000 staff.

Skipton Building Society: an experience of 157 years

In 2010, 157 years after the inaugural meeting at Skipton Town Hall, the Society remains a mutual organisation with group assets of over £15 billion.
