Halifax bank: a pillar of the UK market

The Halifax bank is one of the pillars of the British market. In 2001, the wave of market consolidation has led the institution to agree to a € 10.8 billion merger with Bank of Scotland.

Halifax Bank, Lloyds Banking Group institution since 2009

The new group was named Halifax Bank of Scotland (HBOS) with headquarters in Edinburgh, however since January 2009, HBOS has been acquired by Lloyds Banking Group.
